5' Adenosine Monophosphate-activated Protein Kinase (AMPK) is an enzyme that plays an essential role in energy balance. In essence, AMPK is able to detect the level of energy (i.e. number of ATP molecules) in a cell and helps regulate responses when it gets too high or too low. Increasing AMPK activity can cause cells to stop storing fat (especially in the abdominal section) and to start burning it as energy. AMPK may be used to stimulate metabolism, improve insulin sensitivity, decrease inflammation, promote glucose production from the liver and glucose uptake into the muscles, improve muscle performance, promote healthy aging, encourage cellular recycling (autophagy), regulate the production and turnover of mitochondria, act as an antioxidant, help with oxygen delivery, increases blood flow, help with fertility, decrease unwanted abdominal fat, support healthy weight, promote longevity, and protect heart health. This IC was made with the help of hesperidin and gynostemma pentaphyllum.
